We spent time and time to perfect user experience that meets client desire and vision of how the flow should look and feel.
The app is structured with three crucial segments in its core. B2C, E-COMMERCE, SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT.
B2C - providing necessary information to User, wine tours, wine tasting events etc..
E-COMMERCE - ability of purchasing wines from your archive created while using VinCompass and exploring restaurants. All of that is possible in just few clicks thru the app.
SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT - All users are able to send invitations to their friends, their friends to their friends and creating wide circle of connection. While user is exploring restaurants, adding revisions of wines, creating and filling it’s archive, user can easily can become someones influencer. All that is possible with the feature of marking user as influencer.
Two Main Categories
VinCompass divided the structure in tow main categories. VinIN and VinOUT.
Vin IN

VinIN is a feature where user is creating wine archive from home with his own wines.
VinIN Archive is chronologically oriented. There are two filter options of reviewing VinIN Archive, as Grid and List view.
Grid view is default view of the Archive.
Two Ways of Adding Wines for VinIN
- Manually
- By taking the photo of wine label
Each time adding wine the to your VinIN Archive, award points are gifted.
Collecting certain amount of points gets you all kinds of benefits, wine discounts, wine tasting event invitations and discounts, dinner for two in restaurant with quality vines in their cellars and many more different goodies.
Vin OUT
“Help us refine our location by letting us know if you on the street.”
VinOUT works in a way by syncing with your GEO location. By doing so, VinCompass app is able to show you restaurants near you on custom designed map. Mapping and marking pointers for restaurants are divided in two categories. Red and Grey.
- Restaurants that are defined with Red Pointers are the ones that VinCompass have the knowledge of their wine list, the list that you are able to check and help you to find out if there are wines by your liking.
- Restaurants marked with Grey Pointers are the ones that VinCompass is without knowledge of their wine list. By Discovering them you are earning points. Points are given by helping VinCompass getting knowledge of the restaurants and their wine list.
ARCHIVE
VinCompass Archive is represented as dashboard and divided into 6 key categories.

3. My Favourite Wines
4. My Favourite Restaurants
5. My Places
6. All My Wines
Each category is defined with appropriate illustration and build in counter that allow users to monitor the stats right away from the archive dashboard.
PROFILE
Profile screens provides slightly different types of information or data for Archive Dashboard.
Like:
- total count of wines in users archive,
- Total count of Restaurants checked,
- Points earned,
- The number of invited friends
- And users current rating
- Changing the home address
- Taking the survey
- More details view of earned points
- And changing the password
E-COMMERCE
This part of the VinCompass App is called “Join the Club”.
It offers users to subscribe and order wines directly thru VC application. As additional feature and as a member of VinCompass, user have the opportunity to personalize the labels of world-class bottles of wine such that user can capture the joy of users event for all to see.
ICONOGGRAPHY & ILLUSTRATIONS
All icons, map pins and illustrations across the VinCompas app are custom designed.
In short, we simply loved the idea from the moment client presented us project vision.
Ideas were flying from how to structure user experience and visual work, to what it would take for development part as well.
To facilitate ideal wine and food pairing for each individual user, we developed an intricate Recommendation Engine in PHP, think like Netflix that was created for 1M$. Main influencers can chosen among users’ personal preferences, wine critic rates, choices of their VinCompass friends and choices of all VinCompass users as well as other proprietary attributes. This Recommendation Engine has evolved and will continue to grow with increased usage and enhancements.
Shoping cart is developed using PayPal and Braintree Payments with Industry Portal Marketplaces as well as 3rd- party fulfilment.
Custom CMS with tools tailored to support Business Intelligence and generation of complex statistics and operations.
Database management counting hundreds of thousands of restaurants and millions of wines under management.
